The Story

Please note, this item is considered a second choice by our factory in France. All seconds are handmade using our usual crafting methods, but with minor glazing or ceramic blemishes, neither of which minimize the quality of performance. In an effort to minimize our impact on the environment, unglazed items are recycled and the materials reused. For the same reason, we've decided to make our seconds available for purchase at a significant discount. Seconds are final sale.If you're visiting the Burgundy region of France, you can shop our ceramic seconds in our physical Emile Henry Factory Shop, located in Marcigny. In the U.S., seconds are available online only.

Made from our Flame Ceramic, the Tagine can be used either directly on the heat or in the oven, and allows you to make delicious Tagines, stews and other recipes which require simmering. The shape of the Tagine is unique & purposeful. While the food is being cooked, steam rises into the cone, condenses, and then falls back down into the dish for continuous basting. Beef, lamb, chicken, fish, and even vegetables will never be as tender, moist, and flavorful than when they are cooked in our ceramic Tagine.  Preparing a one-dish dinner has never been so easy!

While the Tagine may be known for intoxicating & ethnic slow-cooked dishes (also known as Tagines), it’s actually incredibly versatile & can be used for rice, beans, roasts, breads, & more!
